The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, built on more than half a century of research and refinement, is the world's most widely used questionnaire for understanding normal differences in personality. Based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological type, the MBTI® personality inventory provides a description of the different ways that individuals prefer to function in using their minds, gathering information and making decisions, relating to others, and functioning through their day.

A valuable introduction and resource:Keirsey and Advisorteam. First published in 1978, Keirsey and Bates's book Please Understand Me, detailing the original Myer Briggs Type Indicator, sold well over two million copies, made it onto several best-seller lists, became a favorite training and counseling guide in many organisations, and was adopted as a textbook by many US colleges and universities. Dr. Keirsey has continued to investigate personality differences, refining his theory of the four temperaments and discovering new facets of character. His latest thinking forms the basis of Please Understand Me II, an updated edition which begins with The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II, a revised version of the personality questionnaire. Also included is The Keirsey FourTypes Sorter, a new short form that identifies your basic temperament and then ranks your second, third, and fourth choices.
